Published: Arizona Highways blog Friday Fotos: birds
This week's Friday Fotos theme in the Arizona Highways blog today was "birds". Here is my photo of two Green Heron vying for space at Papago Park in Phoenix. They remind me of velociraptors. They definitely look like they evolved from dinosaurs.

Published: 2016 Arizona Wildlife Views Magazine's Calendar
My photo of Hooded Orioles was one of the winners of the photo contest for the 2016 Arizona Wildlife Views Magazine's Calendar. It appears as the image for August. To see how this Calendar was made, please view the video below.
At 1:15 minutes into the video you will see my photo on the top left of the Hooded Orioles and again bottom center at 4:31 (the final picks for the calendar). I took that photo at Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, Arizona. Anyone who's image was chosen for any of the months of the year received a $250 prize.

Published: Photo Contest Winner-Arizona Desert Views Calendar
One of my photos of Hooded Orioles is now published in the Arizona Wildlife Views 2016 calendar from over 2,000 entries submitted for this contest. All first place winners will receive a $250 prize and two free copies of the calendar, as well.
It's a great honor to have been chosen as a first place winner along with twelve other photographer's images. Copies are on sale now at any Game and Fish office in Arizona for only $3.00. I purchased ten copies today and I plan on giving them as gifts.
The winners of the contest will be published in Arizona Highways Magazine in January 2016. It is wonderful to be included with some of the other photographers, some of whom I have met out in the field taking pictures. Thanks for being a great inspiration to me!
